The fact that I have free, unlimited access to my school's laser printer inspired me to create some wall art for my room.

Using a nifty tool called The Rasterbator, I decided to recreate M C Escher's Metamorphosis III, a work consisting of a long strip of symbols transforming into different things. So I took the panels found on the artist's site, pasted them into one big JPEG, and voila, here's the result:

Amazing, eh? After converting it to a .pdf consisting of 49 pages, here's what I'll get when I print it (minus the colour, of course).

Now all I need to do is head down to the school library, print it and carefully cut off the margins of the paper and find a way to stick this ten meter strip to my wall.

M C Escher's work in general seems to appeal to me, most of it is suitable for wall posters, just take a look at the rest of his gallery, a serach for MC Escher prints also gives me some nice, cheap alternatives to the rasterbator. I mean, who wouldn't want to stare at a incomprehensible work of art, only to get a headache before they fall asleep? :)
